Overview

The Stress Proof Workshop will create profound and lasting immunity to all forms of psychological stress, and is inclusive in design for both executives and employees at every level. Applicable to both work and daily life stressors, the curriculum is based on established research in human physiology and neuroscience, and the training methods of elite athletes, performers, martial artists, and military operatives. The course includes the following five elements:

  • Stress Awareness  - sensing the internal state of the body
  • Stress Resets  - how to prevent the chronic buildup of anxiety and agitation
  • Stress Checks  - how to “check your stress gauges” and remove psychological tension throughout the day
  • Stress Resuscitation  - how to restore yourself after stressful events and episodes
  • Stress Proofing  - raising your stress threshold, and building long-term neurological resilience

Format

The basic  90-120 minute base workshop focuses on  stress theory, stress awareness practices, and practical  “quick fixes” that participants can be use immediately upon course completion.

The extended  180-minute Advanced Resilience Training workshop includes the entire base workshop, plus an additional hour of guided  stress awareness,  resuscitation and resilience exercises, with individualized coaching from the expert Instructor.

For all workshops, participants will be provided with both  hardcopy and electronic handouts summarizing the course material, and highlighting the specific techniques employed. This will be duplicated in the form of a  soft-copy PDF e-mailed to all participants within a week of completion.

All participants will also receive a  downloadable audio file with three instructor-led  exercises for continued practice (5-minute “desk reset”, 10-minute “morning primer”, and 30-minute “moving reset”).


Venue Requirements


All workshops require 1000 sq ft (minimum) of open floorspace, with data projection facilities. Ideally, the venue should be removed from the participants’ immediate work environment. Onsite gymnasiums are ideal, though meeting rooms may also be used, provided that tables and chairs be cleared to create space. Workshop duration and delivery format are both flexible, and can be adjusted to fit the venue as necessary.


Cost Options


Fees are dependent on workshop length and geographic location. For locations within the state of North Carolina, these costs include all Instructor travel / lodging expenses. For other states / countries, additional travel and lodging expenses will be mutually agreed. To ensure individualized attention for all participants, our standard maximum capacity for all workshops is set at 25. Larger groups can be accommodated by special arrangement, charged at the same, location-based unit price.
